McNeal Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 The red-hot hitting Hubert McNeal is riding high with a 20-consecutive-game hitting streak and is drawing a lot of attention at the ballpark and in the press. The 35-year-old Austin right fielder continued the streak today at Wizards Ballpark with 2 hits in 4 at-bats as the Wizards got the best of the Indianapolis Soviets 13-3. "It's great," one of his teammates said. "To be able to hit behind him and watch him, it's been fun. It's been fun and exciting to watch. Not only fans in Austin, but baseball fans everywhere appreciate what is going on right now, and it has everyone on the edge of their seats wondering what he is going to do." Hubert McNeal singled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. This season McNeal is hitting .351 with 39 hits, 1 home run, 7 RBIs, scored 20 runs and played in 27 games. |
